How We Use ChatGPT To Help Produce Social Media Content at Gromfrog

At Gromfrog, we produce social media content weekly for many clients. So when you've been creating content for years for many customers, producing unique and engaging content is hard.

Everyone, including their pets, knows of ChatGPT by now. Natural language processing AI has taken the world by storm in recent months as people are finding an ever-increasing amount of tasks it can help with.

We use ChatGPT and other AI tools in various areas at Gromfrog. One of the most significant benefits is how it can help us produce content for all the social media accounts we manage. We wanted to go through and share how we use ChatGPT in our social media campaigns.

What Is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence language model developed by OpenAI that can generate human-like text. The model was trained on a massive dataset of text from the internet, allowing it to understand and replicate human language patterns.

How Do We Use ChatGPT?

We use ChatGPT to assist in the writing of our social media content. But how do we do it?

1. Generating Ideas

Generating ideas starts with talking with our customers and finding out what products, content or topics they want to be covered on their social media profiles. We begin by writing out our ideas based on the information we have. From there, we can use ChatGPT to generate some further topics based on our ideas. This helps us by getting a different view on the topics. For example, we have regularly found ChatGPT to have a better idea than ours, as it can run through many iterations of the concept and give something more unique than ours.

These ideas are then placed into a draft schedule along with details on the target audience and goal of the idea.

2. First Draft

Once we have the base ideas, we write our own social posts. We only put a little time into these posts; we use them to train the AI on what we want. We do this for each post idea and detail this in our Monday.com dashboard.

3. Refining The Content

Now we have a list of first drafts, we can write prompts for ChatGPT to improve our post further. For example, below is a prompt that we used to write a post for one of our customers on a blog topic.

Write a social media post for LinkedIn, Facebook & Twitter. The post should send traffic to a blog post: {{LINK}}, while encouraging customers to share their thoughts in the comments. The target audience is young engineers exploring {{TOPIC}}. Here is an example of the post showing the tone and style required.

We then let ChatGPT generate the content.

4. Making Changes

ChatGPT is not a miracle tool, but it is undoubtedly very impressive. But we always make changes. Sometimes, we copy the content to Grammarly and change its sentence structure and tone. But most of the time, we ask ChatGPT to make some tweaks; here are some examples of the common tweaks we ask for.

  • Add some hashtags for Twitter
  • Add some emojis
  • Change the call to action to: (Insert New Call To Action)
  • This is incorrect: (Insert Incorrect Information)

5. Refining The Post

Once we have the requested changes, we always bring the content to Grammarly. Grammarly is an online writing assistant that checks your writing for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. We then make changes to the spelling and sentence structure so it makes more sense to our target audience.

6. Post It

Now that we have a social post, we gather the necessary visuals, schedule it with each social channel, and let it go.

How Well Does It Work?

Data analysis shows us that our social media content developed through ChatGPT generates 400% more engagement and 600% more impressions across our customers compared to us developing and writing our content.

ChatGPT and other AI models have limits and will only replace humans in social media content production sometime soon. Still, they are a fantastic assistant to help you improve your social media game.

We still use amazing companies like WordHound for our on-site content, but ChatGPT has helped us develop better content with better social media results while not spending large sums of money.

Give it a try and see how it can help you with our social media content.
